The company also premiered the latest iterations of its Sigmaline digital book production system, which now features a Pantera digital perfect binder; the hybrid version of Diamant MC book line; and the enhanced Primera and Presto saddle stitchers.

Chief executive Bruno Müller said: “The graphic arts industry is experiencing a period of transition. Hence at Drupa, we are presenting systems that are designed for both offset and digital under the slogan ‘Digital ready’.”

According to Müller Martini, the need for short runs and fast makereadies means the Alegro entry-level perfect binder is a perfect solution for processing both offset and digital jobs.

The line includes a gatherer, perfect binder and stacker, and is completed by the new Solit three-knife trimmer, which is equipped with the patented SmartPress technology.

With the hybrid version of Diamant MC book line, Müller Martini said it was targeting the photobook segment, which increasingly required a higher-quality finish.
