Musical chairs: Paperlinx appoints second chairman in six months

Michael Barker has exchanged the chair for a non-executive directorship, six months after replacing Harry Boon in the top job.

He is replaced by Robert Kaye, who also joined the board in September 2012 as non-executive director.

According to Paperlinx: "[Kaye] is a senior counsel in New South Wales who has given legal and strategic advice and acted for many public and private financial institutions and commercial enterprises."

Barker has retained his position of chair of the company's Audit Committee and has also taken control of the Remuneration & HR Committee.

Paperlinx's executive general manager of corporate affairs, Wayne Johnston, told ProPrint that the job swap was a "strategic rotation".

Johnston said the company's corporate governance would be improved by separating the roles of company chairman and audit committee chairman.

The third member of the board, Andrew Price, will continue in his role as non-executive director.
