Myer and Kathmandu take out Catalogue Awards

This is Myer’s second consecutive year of winning the award, as well as winning for its chain store and high volume fashion catalogues under Special Event or Theme, Adult Apparel and General Apparel categories.

Another big winner on the night was Kathmandu, which scored the Catalogue of the Year Award for a print run of up to 1.5 million catalogues, as well as winning the 2009 Boutique Cataloguer category.

The Foundry took out the Best Agency of the Year Award, breaking a six year winning streak by Cumming Agency and Studios. Rounding out the win was The Foundry’s David Budd, who was crowned Best Young Designer of the Year.

Australian Catalogue Association chief executive, Ken Bishop, said that this year’s winners demonstrated the remarkable design and effectiveness of this form of marketing.

“The high standard of tonight’s winners is a perfect example of why our industry is increasingly billed as the most effective form of message delivery for retailers, in reaching their end-user consumers.”

National Haircosmetics Educator Keune Academy, was a new award winner with the People’s Choice Award for Catalogue of the Year. Bed retailer Snooze received three awards for catalogues in the Major Retailers, Home Interiors and Letterbox Power categories.

The major award recipients recognised at the Australian Catalogue Association’s gala presentation were:

KATHMANDU — Kathmandu Winter 2008 Hokkaido Japan (up to 1.5 million catalogues)
MYER – My Style Hottest Looks (over 1.5 million catalogues)
KEUNE ACADEMY 2009 – Keune Academy 2009 (The People’s Choice)
OFFICEWORKS – 12 Ways of Christmas (Catalogue Effectiveness)
DAVID BUDD — The Foundry (Best Young Designer of the Year)
THE FOUNDRY – (Best Advertising Agency of the Year)

The Australian Catalogue Association was formed in 1992 and represents the producers, printers, distributors and suppliers of the catalogue industry.
