Vic PICAs postponed, WA event set for Sept 4

The Print & Visual Communications Association (PVCA) has announced a new date for The Printing Industry Creativity Awards (PICAs) in WA after COVID lockdowns disrupted a number of its events.

The PICAs in WA is now scheduled for 4 September at the Crown in Perth.

The PICAs in Victoria has also been postponed again, with a date yet to be announced as the state enters an extended lockdown that is expected to last another week. The event will also take place at the Marriot Hotel in Docklands as initially planned, instead of The Sheraton Melbourne as proposed in the interim plans.

Print & Visual Communications Association president Walter Kuhn previously told Sprinter that lockdowns delayed renovations at the Marriot Hotel in Docklands, resulting in the interim plans at The Sheraton Melbourne.

The PICAs in South Australia is expected to proceed on 26 August at the National Wine Centre of Australia in Adelaide, while the NSW event is currently scheduled for 17 September at the Ovolo in Wooloomooloo.

So Queensland is the only state to have successfully celebrated the PICAs with around 90 industry members turning out to celebrate print at the Tattersalls Club in Brisbane. ColorChiefs, Kuhn Corp and Sunprint were some of the companies that dominated at the QLD PICAs.

Bookings are open for all events, but due to changing COVID restrictions, organisers recommend you watch this space to keep up with any changes which may become necessary:
