No sale yet, but Worldwide administrators picking through offers

The deadline for expressions of interest closed last week, with franchises continuing to operate as normal throughout the administration.

Worldwide acting chief executive Rob Dallimore told ProPrint that administrators McGrath Nicol were now in the process of assessing the offers.

“They’ve got expressions of interest on the table now, so they’ll go through them and see which one is best for the company,” Dallimore said.

“I understand they had a lot of interest,” he added.

Administrators from McGrath Nicol declined to comment to ProPrint.

Dallimore described the mood at the company as “very upbeat”. He said the company has been able to maintain supply to its franchises and that hubs were still operating as normal.

“The franchises are going exceptionally well. Everything’s been very good,” he said.

“In their eyes, it’s business as usual,” he added.

Dallimore also said that Worldwide’s head office, which is in the hands of administrators, was continuing to operate with a “majority” of its workforce still in place, and that the company hadn’t encountered any kinks in its workflow since entering administration.

“None at all. I’m quite surprised,” he said. “They often say that in desperate times, people rally behind each other, and that’s certainly been the case with us.”

Worldwide Online Printing entered voluntary administration on 25 February, with McGrath Nicol’s James Thackray and Shaun Fraser appointed as administrators.
