Last year, almost 700 entries were received from around the country and organizers’ say competition is expected to be equally tough this year, with 18 general print categories reflecting the increasing diversity of the evolving print landscape. Susan Heaney, NPA chair, says: “Today, the process which was ‘inspired by paper’ has grown to encompass a vast array of substrates, across a multitude of applications, connecting to a wealth of new and powerful media, to deliver some of the most creative, innovative and exciting print the world has ever seen. “It is nothing short of inspiring – and that is what we are set to celebrate with this year’s National Print Awards competition.” This year, entrants can submit everything from leaflets, flyers, brochures and posters, to catalogues and magazines, books and limited editions, reports and prospectuses, labels and packaging and POS. In addition, the awards will pay tribute to creatives and agencies, with five new categories recognising the contribution of design to the success of all kinds of printed products. NPA major sponsors will also be presenting their three Awards – the Media Super Young Executive of the Year and Media Super Industry Legend, and the Fuji Xerox Effectiveness Award – which are also now open for entry. Heaney says, “Whether you are a print professional, creative, designer, marketer, packager or print buyer, we welcome you to enter this year’s National Print Awards for the chance to win gold and inspire your clients, your colleagues and your peers.
