NSW Roads and Maritime hands out contracts

Finsbury Green and Blue Star have booked more than $2.7m of extra work this year with the NSW Roads and Maritime Services dishing out contracts.

The contracts come from NSW Government panels the two printers are on, rather than being won in competitive tenders, though neither will actually produce any print work.

Blue Star’s $745,000 contract is for warehousing and distribution, through its logistics section Blue Star Connect, and continues a seven-year relationship between the printer and department.

Finsbury Green’s $2m contract is for commercial print management services, meaning it will parcel out the work among its many print suppliers through its Sourceit portal, which streamlines requests for quotation, procurement and job management.

The contract began in May and runs until March 2016 with extension options.
