Oce appoints Australia managing director

Oce Australia has appointed a former graphic arts professional to run its Australian operations.

Simon Wheeler, who replaced Servio Notermans, this month joined the company’s head office in Scoresby, south-west of Melbourne. Notermans returned to Europe to become managing director of Oce in France.

Wheeler joined Oce in Britain 14 years ago and was divisional director of major corporate and commercial accounts. He learned the ropes of the trade starting as a graphic artist, Oce said.

Wheeler said he was “passionate about the industry” and expected changes to the profession to bring “many opportunities and challenges to digital printing”.

“Oce is at the forefront of the digital printing revolution and market leader in a increasing number of important areas,” Wheeler said.

“I am looking forward to bringing some of our new technologies to the market here in Australia and helping our Australian customers achieve the highest standards of excellence.”
