One dead two injured at ink plant

One man is dead and two more are in hospital following a tragic accident at the site of Australia's biggest ink manufacturer today.

The three men were cleaning an ink vat at the Auburn manufacturing site of DIC when according to early reports a blade started moving, causing the accident.

First reports of the three trapped men came in at around 8.30am, by 10.30 one man had been rescued  by emergency services and taken to hospital with critical injuries, an hour later a second man was recued with multiple leg fractures, but sadly the third man died at the scene, and is still in the ink vat.

DIC is the world's biggest ink manufacturer, its Auburn site is where most of its inks for the local market are made.

The men were in the vat on a routine cleaning session when tragedy struck.
