Ooh Media growth more than doubles sector average

Net profit for the six months ending 30 June 2010 stood at $2.6m, more than triple the $754,000 it posted a year ago. The company also increased EBITDA earnings by 84% to $9.6m.

The company’s 36% increase was  more than double the 15% reported by the Outdoor Media Association for the sector as a whole.

“This follows on from last year when Ooh’s revenue grew 14%, defying a 12% decline in the out-of-home sector,” according to the company.

Ooh Media chief executive Brendon Cook said the company achieved the strong results by “leveraging a fixed cost base” which “created a solid foundation to improve revenue and margins”.

“While most media companies took a hit during the global financial crisis and are now just regaining ground, we have continually delivered growth,” he said.

“We expect advertiser confidence to grow further as the MOVE (Measurement of Outdoor Visibility and Exposure) out-of-home audience measurement system gains more traction, and out-of-home advertising continues to grow faster than other traditional media.”
