Optimus reveals new MIS aimed at digital

Optimus Dash fills a gap in the market for a digital-specific MIS, said the vendor.

“In our customers’ experience, one size does not fit all to define digital print production,” said group managing director Nicola Bisset.

“As technology and choice has increased, what has emerged is the need for a clearer distinction between at least four different digital environment: sheetfed, digital web, wide-format and flatbed,” she added.

The new MIS is also aimed at the “new breed of creative media, brand savvy agencies and companies that are also involved in producing printed product as part of a wider campaign.”

The MIS incorporates four extra components. Optimus Calc is a new calculation and evaluation engine. Sales Enquiry and Quote Manager sits with Calc to “easily create rapid quotations”.

Outwork Manager is an interface for quotes from multiple suppliers. E-Commerce plugs into web-to-print systems for online ordering.

Optimus will be hosting roadshows from 8-18 June right across Australia for printers who don’t get to see the MIS at Ipex.

There will be two shows per day, starting in Sydney on 8-9 June, then Brisbane on 10-11 June, Melbourne on 15-16 June, Adelaide on 17 June and ending in Perth on 18 June.
