Optus $10m contract tipped to move from Blue Star to Stream

Details remain scarce, with Optus refusing to comment, and Stream Solutions general manager Clive Steele saying he was unable to comment due to a confidentiality agreement.

However, credible industry sources have told ProPrint that Stream has won all of the telco giant's consumer graphic design and print work in a deal valued at almost $10 million per year – though contracts are yet to be signed.

The contract would consolidate the telecom company's print at Stream, following the print manager's contract win in 2010.

Blue Star's print management arm had held the contract for about a decade, though Blue Star IQ executive general manager Matt Aitken would not comment when contacted by ProPrint.

Meanwhile, sources have also told ProPrint that Stream, in conjunction with supply partner Vavavoom, has also plucked Optus' promotional goods business from incumbent Corporate Express.

Corporate Express' general manager for print and promotional marketing, Lisa Toohey-Bott, said she respected client confidentiality and was unable to comment.

Stream may also be starting a new role to manage Optus' mail houses.

The three contracts would mark a run of success for Stream, which in November added the One Path contract to its existing ANZ account.
