Opus grows on-demand offering with pair of HP Indigo machines

An HP Indigo 5500 will be installed at its Ligare operation in Sydney, while COS Printers in Singapore wil take delivery of an Indigo 7500 (pictured).

Chief executive Cliff Brigstocke told ProPrint that Opus had invested $1.7m on the purchase, which coincides with its push into Europe and the US.

“These machines have been strategically placed to mirror our customers’ requirement,” he said.

“We were previously using the Océ inkjet printers, but our customers were happier with the results on the HP printers.

“On-demand printing is a big aspect of our company and something we are looking to expand into even further into the future.”

The 5500 can hit 68 pages per minute (ppm) in full colour and was bought from reseller Currie Group, while the 120ppm Indigo 7500 was purchased from Acacia IT Services in Singapore.

Opus’ on-demand offering is also underpinned by its customer portal, built around proprietary software IPALM (integrated print and logistics platform).

The updated software offers customers a streamlined solution to their on-demand printing needs and will be on display at the London Book Fair in April.
