Opus makes play for US and UK book market

It will use the April exhibition to showcase offerings from its book printing operations, which comprise Ligare in Australia and New Zealand as well as COS Printers in Singapore.

Opus chief executive Cliff Brigstocke (pictured) said the success of the production hub in Singapore had allowed the company to service much larger clients.

“We are now servicing quite a large range of global customers and a lot of them have offices in the UK and US,” he said.

“There will be a lot of publishers from these regions that we are now targeting at the fair.”

Opus executives at the show will include Ligare general manager Wayne Bywater and COS general manager Priscilla Ang.

Brigstocke said he was pleased with the company’s international expansion, including working with some unnamed global educational publishers.

“It’s a big step for us and great for our company profile. We are very happy about it,” he said.

Ligare recently appointed new sales & marketing manager Carrick Wilkie, an ex-pat Brit whose “contacts in the UK have been very supportive”, said Brigstocke.

Opus Print Group will be targeting UK and US publishing customers when it exhibits at the London Book Fair for the first time.
