Opus strengthens global ties with major US deal

The tie-up is part of the Content Delivery Alliance (CDA), and adds to partnerships that Opus announced recently with UK book printers.

The CDA comprises print and distribution networks across 27 facilities in Asia Pacific, China, North America and Europe.

Opus chief executive Cliff Brigstocke said the alliance would give publishers quicker turnarounds on short-run book printing around the world., while less time-sensitive runs will be handled by the company’s COS facility in Singapore.

“As publishers continue to experience international growth, they are looking for ways to more effectively manage their distribution,” said Brigstocke.

“With this alliance, the Sheridan Group can now print our customers’ products closer to their ultimate destination, thereby reducing the time and the cost of overseas distribution.”

He added that plans to float Opus were still underway; however the group had shifted its attention away from the New Zealand Exchange to look at overseas options.
