PacPrint and Visual Impact to co-locate in 2013

PacPrint13, which is organised by the Graphic Arts Merchants Association of Australia (GAMAA) and Printing Industries Association of Australia (PIAA), will hold the trade show in combination with the Melbourne leg of VIIE, which is backed by the Visual Imaging Suppliers Association. It will take place from 21-25 May.

GAMAA executive director Karen Goldsmith told ProPrint that visitors had provided “extremely positive” feedback about the co-location concept and had come along in greater numbers as a result.

She expected the quantity of visitors in 2013 to be slightly lower due to industry consolidation, but said quality would remain high.

Holding two shows in the one space would expose visitors to a greater range of exhibits and also make things more convenient for suppliers, according to Goldsmith.

“In the current environment it’s great to see the associations working together in trying to maximise opportunities for the market,” she said.

Peter Harper, general manager of VISA, said: “With businesses increasingly looking for ways to diversify and develop new income streams, it’s more important than ever to be informed about the broadest possible range of options – and this partnership between PacPrint13 and VIIE will allow us to deliver that.”

The organisers expect to attract visitors from across Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific.

Last year’s co-located PrintEx and VIIE baosted attendance of more than 8,000.
