PacPrint Q&A: Currie Group

Phillip Rennell

Sales and marketing director

Currie Group

When was your company's first PacPrint?

Around 1980.

Can you name any milestone launches at previous PacPrints?

They are all milestones, but if we had to pick one, it would be the release of the Indigo 5000 in 2005. It was the first release of the new generation of digital presses. The 5000 fast became a benchmark for quality and reliability. We also had the privilege of releasing the Indigo 5500 to the market in 2009.

Can you name any milestone sales at previous PacPrints?

The first HP Indigo 7500 was sold to Print Media Group in 2009.

PacPrint or PrintEx – what’s your favourite?

PacPrint, because we can showcase our entire portfolio and it's only 12 months after Drupa so everything is new to market and exciting.

How can customers get the most out of PacPrint?

Pre-plan and spend enough time there. If you’re in the business then you need a couple of days at least to see everything in detail. Make sure you talk to us so that we can plan to show you everything you want to see.

How will you entice customers to invest?

Currie Group has a proud history of providing customers what they need. We work with leading brands and leading-edge technologies; our portfolio reflects products for now and the future. We believe we have the best products for the job.

What will you be showing at PacPrint13?

We will launch the greatly anticipated HP Indigo 10000 B2 digital press (left). In fact not one but two presses so everyone will get an opportunity to see this future leader of the industry. We will be showcasing the Horizon SmartStacker fully automated finishing line designed to work with the HP Indigo 10000 to produce finished output. We will also have the latest HP Indigo 7600 and 5600.

Can you give us any other hints about your stand or plans for the show?

With around 1,000m2, Currie Group is the single largest exhibitor at PacPrint 2013. Customers can expect an end-to-end experience on our stand. We will be showcasing print on the multitude of digital presses while providing an insight into finishing like never before.
