PacPrint Q&A: Epson Australia

Craig Heckenberg

Business unit manager

Epson Australia

When was your company's first PacPrint?

In 1996.

Can you name any milestone launches at previous PacPrints?

In the ’90s, we used the show to launch the world’s first A3-plus inkjet based digital proofing solution, which went on to revolutionise the graphic arts industry and become the default standard for digital contract proofing.

Can you name any milestone sales at previous PacPrints?

We do not sell directly off the stand but following every PacPrint, Epson enjoys great sales, which can be attributed to the show.

PacPrint or PrintEx – what’s your favourite?

Difficult to say which one is better but both are great shows for various reasons.

How can customers get the most out of PacPrint?

Do some research beforehand, know exactly what it is you want to learn, book a demonstration time, ask your questions. When that’s done you have time for some productive browsing.

How will you entice customers to invest?

The industry is moving rapidly towards digital systems. However, digital volumes are still low so the big opportunities are there for those who move first and fast. On top of that, technological advancements, breadth of product offerings and interest rates – finance costs – have never been lower.

What will you be showing at PacPrint13?

We are demonstrating for the first time at the show the new 44-inch SureColor SC-F6000 roll-fed dye sublimation textile printer, available in June. Also getting its first public showing in Australia will be the highly versatile SurePress L-4033A short-run digital label press.

Can you give us any other hints about your stand or plans?

Yes, but you will need to visit our stand to find out.
