PacPrint13: Currie Group

Excitement is running high at the Currie Group, which will display the HP Indigo 10000 for the first time in Australia at PacPrint13. The HP Indigo 10000 attracted a great deal of attention at Drupa 2012, with some Australian printing companies even expressing their interest in buying one at the German show.

“The HP Indigo 10000 is a 75cm format press with breakthrough productivity and application range, making it an easy fit for offset printers. This means we are also showing a whole new range of applications that we previously couldn’t do on the smaller-format machines. Some of the applications we will be showing are pocket folders, six-page brochures, and maps,” says Currie Group sales and marketing director Phillip Rennell.

“The HP Indigo 10000 is HP Indigo as you know it, but in a bigger format. The technology is an update but the format is new. This opens up a wealth of opportunities for commercial printers.”

Curries will also showcase the Horizon B2 Smart Stacker, a multi-purpose finishing machine designed specifically to run in line with the Indigo 10000.

According to Curries, there is no other product like the B2 Smart Stacker in the market. “Instead of using the guillotine, they can now specify how to cut the sheets and run it through the SmartStacker in one go,” says Curries marketing assistant Erica Myers.

“This new B2 format completely opens up the digital print market to all printing companies, as you can now print virtually any application. Our first Indigo 10000 installation in Australia was in mid-March, with two more 10000s on the back of PacPrint13. This is the first time the HP Indigo 10000 and the B2 Smart Stacker will be demonstrated in Australia.”
