PacPrint13: Cyber Australia

Cyber Australia will be one of the few exhibitors to demonstrate offset technology prominently on its stand. The vendor is showing off the new LED-ready Ryobi 928P eight-colour A1 offset press, designed for A4 magazine, brochure and flyer production. The machine’s dry-to-dry printing system means that all printed products can be delivered instantly, according to Cyber.

Cyber managing director Bernard Cheong says the Ryobi LED system has been very well received in Japan. “The 920 series of presses is now our best seller.”

Also ready for demonstration will be the Ryobi 525GX-5D with the new Eco-UV system. This A3-plus press will demonstrate chemical embossed printing.

“Demand for chemical embossed printing is the fastest growing sector in Asia. Ryobi is the leader in chemical embossed printing there. We have a few customers doing chemical embossed printing with the larger-format printing machine,” says Cheong.

The new Amsky B1-size UV-platesetter will be on show. Cyber says that by using robust conventional UV plates, plate costs can be reduced by up to 50%.

Also new on the Cyber stand is the Cosmotech Friendly CT AQ-5 reduced pressure waste water distillation system. Separating water from the waste can reduce waste disposal costs by as much as 90%. The resulting distilled water can be recycled, reducing the impact on the environment. Cosmotech Friendly is the most energy efficient waste water distillation system available, according to Cyber.

Other new technology on show will be the Zechini Roby Junior 2 and X-Case Plus short-run hardcover solutions. These machines helped Zechini’s sales volume increase by 44% last year.

“Most of the solutions shown on our stand further reduce production costs, and at the same time improve quality, service, and turnaround time. They are win-win-win solutions for our customers. With ever reducing margins in our modern economy, the only way to bring profit back is through cost savings,” says Cheong.

Star product Ryobi 928P

As the only vendor to show a sheetfed offset press at PacPrint, there can be little doubt that the Cyber stand will be a beacon for commercial printers. The machine at PacPrint13 will be an eight-

colour perfector model of Ryobi’s flagship litho range. It offers a maximum speed of 16,200 sheets per hour and a maximum paper size of 920x640mm.

The 928P can handle a range of paper thicknesses from 0.04mm onion skin right up to heavy 0.6mm card stock. LED-UV curing, which can sit at both the perfecting device and press delivery to cure both sides of the sheet, is an optional extra. Other extras include paper size preset and impression pressure preset systems, and printing density control.

The machine’s SRA1 format means the press costs less and is cheaper to run than a standard B1 press. Cyber says this can also help cut the power bill by 37% and plate costs by 27%.
