PacPrint13: Fuji Xerox Australia

PacPrint13 promises to be a major event for Fuji Xerox Australia (FXA). For the first time, Fuji Xerox will share stand space with its sibling, Fujifilm Australia, in an effort to spread the digital word.

FXA says it will unveil a number of new solutions on its stand in order to demonstrate how it can help its customers unlock new opportunities and build sustainable businesses.

As part of this, FXA will launch a new wide-format inkjet printer in Australia, the DocuWide C842. After debuting to accolades at Drupa 2012, the DocuWide C842 delivers a colour output speed of 420m per hour, faster than any wide-format device in its class, claims the company.

To complement these solutions, FXA will have a range of paper, supplies and wide-format products on show, including a selection of finishing equipment and specialty products. A new range of digital coated papers will be unveiled.

FXA will also showcase some new software solutions that promise results in cross-media campaigns, including the recently extended capabilities of XMPie personalisation software. Its workflow automation suite of solutions will be on display alongside the recently expanded ProfitAccelerator suite of business development tools.

Star product Fuji Xerox DocuWide C842

The vendor began a concerted push into the wide-format arena last year, including sponsoring two ProPrint Breakfast Briefings. Fuji Xerox Australia entered the market via agencies for Mutoh and Epson equipment and is bringing its own thermal inkjet product to the table.

The DocuWide C842 has a rated speed of 152.4mm per second at 1,600×1,600 dpi, which translates to seven A0-format sheets per minute. Data can be output up to 42 inches in width, which opens up applications such as printing out a 36-inch poster with register marks.

According to Fuji Xerox, “unlike the generic inkjet printer system which has  a moving print head, the DocuWide C842 has five print heads arranged and fixed in a zigzag formation. These print heads simultaneously produce jets of four colour inks to enable one-pass printing, thereby realising the high-speed output of 152.4mm per second.”
