PacPrint13: Positive Camtec

The Swiss designed and manufactured Nyala UV flatbed printer from SwissQprint was launched at Drupa 2012. The “big brother” to the highly successful Oryx and Impala machines, Nyala features a 3.2×1.6m bed size, 50mm material thickness, 3.2m wide heavy-duty roll-to-roll system, options for white and varnish and a unique SwissQprint feature – Tandem Print mode.

Competing in the field against Agfa, Durst, Océ, Vutek and HP, the Nyala is billed as the only true flatbed printer that also offers a 3.2 metre-wide roll-to-roll system. Nyala is a workhorse, pumping out prints at speeds up to 200m² per hour. In addition, the completely modular system can be upgraded at any time to include additional features, allowing the user to meet requirements today with room to expand in the future.

The updated SwissQprint Nyala offers up to nine ink channels, supporting CMYK, light cyan, light magenta, light black, white, varnish and even spot colours like orange, green and violet.

By varying print conditions and curing rates, the varnish channel can produce matte, semi-gloss, gloss and textured drop gloss effects.

Following the launch to the Australian market in the second quarter of 2012, SwissQprint has made a rapid impression, with nine installations so far. PacPrint13 will see the first public appearance of the Nyala in Australia, and offers a unique proposition for high-quality, high-productivity UV flatbed printing with maximum versatility.

SwissQprint is an integral part of Positive Camtec’s printer portfolio, which also includes Roland, Epson and Teckwin large format printers.
