PacPrint13: Renz Masterbind

There will be plenty of products getting their Australian premieres at the Renz stand. The exhibitor will show new solutions from Renz, GMP, Schmedt and Daige aimed at the on-demand digital print market.

From GMP, Renz is demonstrating the Protopic II 540 with auto feed and the Surelam II 540 laminating and celloglazing machines. These new models are modular and easily upgradeable with auto-feeding and/or auto-bursting options to cope with increasing volumes or changing productivity requirements.

Renz’s most exciting new product is a “revolutionary” technology from GMP called Digital Sleeking. This alternative to spot varnishing is applied using a laminating machine to produce a spot varnish effect in gloss, matte, holographic or metallic finishes at a fraction of the cost. The technology opens the door to in-house production of one-off or small quantities as well as larger runs of high-quality print embellishment.

Also new is the PraDeka case-making system from Schmedt. Designed for short to medium-sized runs of case-making and photobooks, it replaces the need for separate pieces of equipment by incorporating all the processes in one production unit.

The Maxit hot melt glue system from Daige is another exciting new product. It  requires no setup or cleanup, making it ideal for an on-demand environment where there are one-off to medium-sized runs of mounting for photobook covers, presentation covers or mounting wide format material. Renz aims to provide products for a digital print environment that have quick and easy setup, a small footprint and are cost-effective for shorter runs. The company’s policy is to empower its customers with ideas and solutions that add value to print and expand the services that can be done in-house.
