PacPrint13: Screen

Screen Australia is pulling out all stops in its PacPrint13 efforts. Pride of place on the stand will go to the all-new Truepress L350 UV digital label press, Screen’s first ever label press, which is getting its world debut at PacPrint.

According to the company, the L350UV is at the top of the digital label press tree in terms of productivity and functionality. It is capable of printing 16.1m² per minute on a 350mm web with a print width of 322mm. Its linear print speed is 50 metres per minute. The L350UV offers a minimum droplet size of 3pcl and uses wide gamut CMYK inks. Screen says white ink will be available from early 2014 and can be retrofitted. The machine can use existing off-the-shelf label stocks, and connect to any 350mm third party finishing line.

The L350UV will be available for installations shortly after PacPrint13. The machine was shown at Drupa 2012 and Label Expo Americas, but at those shows it appeared as a technology demonstration, as opposed to the fully fledged machine on show in Melbourne. Screen has partnered on a non-exclusive basis with Jet Technologies as a reseller for the L350UV. The reseller’s deep knowledge of the narrow-web sector should come in handy as Screen tries to grab a share of this burgeoning market for digital.

Also on display at Screen’s stand will be Equios PTR v2.0 pre-press workflow and Equios Online v2.0 for online and mobile proof approvals and publishing.
