PaperCut wins top exporter award for cutting customers’ print costs

The 15-staff, Victoria-based company, which specialises in print cost control software, has enjoyed “rapid growth” over the past few years to become a $5.3m-turnover firm with a global footprint.

PaperCut’s software helps businesses “of all sizes manage their printing for cost control and environmental impact”. It is aimed at enterprises such as engineering, graphic design, architectural, and accounting firms.

Co-founder and director Chris Dance said the company was “delighted” to be recognised by national business magazine Smart Company.

“Our rapid growth has been fueled by our expansion into the US market and through our worldwide partners. It’s great to see companies in Australia being recognised as leading exporters in other areas besides minerals and sheep,” he said.

Smart Company noted that the rising Australian dollar was having an effect on PaperCut’s exporting business, but the company had responded accordingly.

“Their sales to $USD countries have dropped by up to 25% this year,” said Smart Investor.

“They’ve tried to respond to this by pricing their products in local currencies, and not immediately converting their assets to Australian dollars.
