Perth digital firm buys Fujifilm Acuity

Direct Image Digital Printing bought an Acuity LED 1600 from Fujifilm at PacPrint on Thursday.

Fujifilm’s business development manager, Michael Liveris, said Allardice was particularly interested in the Acuity’s white-varnish feature and six-colour capacity, as well as the overall quality of the print, which will give it a winning margin in the POS market.

LED UV is a relatively new inkjet technology which is especially adept at printing on heat sensitive media as it generates little heat. Consuming far less energy than conventional UV lamps, it is also an environmentally friendlier form of UV inkjet.

The absence of volatile organic compounds and toxic metal halide lamps are also bonuses for the environment.
