Perth printing factory hit by fire

A spokesperson from the Department of Fire & Emergency Services told ProPrint that the small incident caused about $1,000 of damage.

The fire at the Canning Vale site began when oil leaked from a compressor to a hot manifold underneath. Most of the damage was smoke-related, said the spokesperson.

The emergency call was made at 4.07am. A four-person crew was dispatched, but some of the firefighters were released early when the job turned out to be smaller than expected. The job was completed by 5.20am, said the spokesperson.

The name of the business was not disclosed.
