Pitney showcases world firsts

The DI 6100 inserter for transactional mail and the DPS 100, which the company is aiming at businesses that are new to mailing, have been given their debut at the show.

The Mailstream Evolution Inserting System high-volume inserter and Companion tabletop inserter are also appearing at the company’s stand (19/C790).

The Evolution is the successor to the Split Drive Inserting System and incorporates several upgrades to its predecessor.

It processes DL envelopes up to 14,000 mail pieces per hour, C5 envelopes up to 12,000 per hour and C4 mail up to 9,000 per hour.

The Companion system can handle DL envelopes up to C4 with a maximum speed of 5,400 mail pieces per hour.

Pitney Bowes’ DI 6100 can process letter-format and C4 pocket envelopes simultaneously, although it can also handle each format separately. It can accommodate six feeders and features an optional inserting table to allow the processing of A4 flat material into C4 pocket envelopes.

The DPS 100 runs at 16,000 per hour at DL format and 12,000 per hour at C4 format using a servo motor. Rotary and friction feeders can be swapped in 30 minutes.

Product marketing manager Simon Illingworth said: “The DPS 100 provides first-time investors and firms looking to upgrade existing technology with the reliability and flexibility key to driving rapid return-on-investment.”
