PMG buys one of three HP Indigos from Curries at PrintEx

Curries sold all of three Indigo presses on its stand, including the top-of-the-range Indigo 7500 to Print Media Group (PMG).

The machinery dealer said it was “very pleased” with its performance at PrintEx11, with several advance orders.

Currie Group sales and marketing director Phillip Rennell said interest in digital print was more noticeable than at past shows.

“PrintEx has put us in a strong position for the rest of the year and we are very happy that PMG added the new Indigo to its digital portfolio,” he said.

PMG said that the investment was made to replace an existing Indigo press, and would be used for short-run digital and direct mail work.

General manager of sales and marketing, Lisa Stark, said the company has been impressed with the colour consistency from the Indigo range as well as Currie’s service.

The Indigo 7500, which was launched at Ipex 2010, can reach up to 120 A4 pages per minute and has a duty cycle of 3.5 million colour pages per month. The first one in the country was installed at Group Momentum in North Sydney in October 2010.

At PrintEx11, Curries also sold an Indigo WS6000 press to Grafix Labels in Melbourne and an Indigo 3550 to Melbourne-based Eastern Press.

Rennell praised the Curries Group customers who took gold at the National Print Awards: Bambra Press, Momento Pro and Picpress.
