PMP and Geon to print Federal election leaflets and ballots

The web offset printing giant has been awarded a $1.7 million contract to produce a leaflet called 'Your Official Guide to the 2013 Federal Election', according to the Australian Electoral Commission.

A spokesperson said the leaflet would be printed and distributed to households "as soon as possible after the election is announced".

The spokesperson said three firms tendered for the contract, which was awarded in December.

The leaflet for the 2010 election was an 8pp document containing voting information.

Sheetfed printer Geon will also be busy during the election after winning a $1.2 million contract to print 8.3 million ballot papers for Queensland voters in just one weekend.

It comes on top of contracts Geon won to print ballots for Western Australia and Tasmania worth a combined $560,000.
