PMP wins Victorian WorkSafe award

The WorkSafe Victoria ‘Return to Work Employer Excellence award’ went to PMP Print Clayton.

Allely credited the award to the hard work of Clayton’s OHS team, led by nurse Jane Pallot, as well as the core principles of the group.

“Safety for us is a number one priority,” he said.

“Over the past two years, we have been running extensive safety programs and I am really happy with our injury frequency statistics. Jane’s work is a reflection of what we are committed to across the organisation and we can all equally share in her pride.”

Pallot pointed to the story of employee Aldofo Crespin, who was also nominated for the ‘Worker Return to Work Achievement’

“Aldo had an operation, and we worked closely with his doctor and identified what his work capacity was. We got him back to work and, using his experience and knowledge, he was able to put together a manual on jobs at the factory,” she said.

“That built up a lot of his self esteem and he started to believe that he really had something to offer even though he was injured. Despite English being his second language, he really thrived. He is just one of many injured workers we have helped.”

WorkSafe chief executive Greg Tweedly congratulated PMP and the other winners on their achievements.

“These individuals and businesses highlight the importance of making health and safety a priority in the workplace,” he said.

“Every worker is entitled to a safe workplace and to return home safely at the end of each day to friends, family and loved ones.”
