Printers need to master multi-channel marketing: PIAA

The Printing Industries Association of Australia (PIAA) and Graphic Arts Services Association (GASA) have joined forces with the Association for Data-driven Marketing & Advertising (ADMA) to help printers broaden their service offering.

The 'Be More than a Printer' marketing course will focus on response rates, customer loyalty, privacy laws and social media. It will be held in Sydney in August.

GASA general manager Garry Knespal said printers needed to invest in new services if they wanted to remain relevant in a changing industry.

"Partnering with ADMA in training events like this gives the printing industry unique opportunities to gain the marketing skills required to do this," said Knespal.

"Business communication options are expanding and will continue to evolve. That’s why it’s so important for printing companies in particular to be able to provide new options as part of their communication product and service mix that their clients are using and needing assistance with."

Meanwhile, the PIAA will host two free webinars in July.

ADMA will run a 'Be More than a Printer' webinar on 12 July, while Adobe will discuss Digital Publishing Suite and mobile technology on 17 July.
