QLD print petrolheads from Platypus, Go Print and G2 to rally for charity

Michael Rowe from Go Print, Bernie Hockings of G2 Solutions and Tom Lusch from Platypus Graphics plan to take the car – dubbed ‘A Printer’s Dream’ – through the grueling 10-day XXXX Gold Variety Bash and raise money for children’s charity Variety.

The trio plan also hope their a colourful retro car will raise the profile of the printing industry, with each sponsor printed on the ‘groovy’ vehicle wrap.

The team will race through south-east Queensland and northern New South Wales completing challenges, visiting schools and helping out kids in need.

Rowe said the team had spent a lot of time fixing up the 1971 V8 Fairmont and that it was well up for the challenge.

“This is something we have always wanted to do – 10 fun days on the road helping out a great cause,” he said.

“After the floods and everything companies have already been very generous to charities, but we are hoping that they can get behind us in looking after the kids in our own backyard.”

The car will be wrapped on 18 May at the Brisbane offices of POS and fleet graphics specialist Colorcorp, with 80 people expected to attend.

Current sponsors include Platypus Graphics, Fuji Xerox, Colorcorp, Bank of Queensland and CPI Paper, as the team targets the $7,500 needed to enter the event.
