Quote fast, win work says the Price Wizard

This speed and efficiency is the underlying philosophy of the Sydney based two-man Price Wizard company. Its principal, Goronwy Price (pictured), reported that response to the PacPrint-launched Version 10 of its software has been unprecedented, with demand for demonstrations brisk and a brace of potential users already signed.

Price emphasized that today’s MIS program needs to do more than merely produce a price. In this latest version he claims to be able to provide his customers with useful historical information aimed at generating sales, such as every time a quote is generated it also brings up past success rates with not only that customer but even the individual within the customer company.

“That way a printer can identify whether his past success rate suggests massaging the quoted price, either up or down,” he explained.

Price added that the system also encompasses the ability by anyone in a print operation, whether or not skilled in quoting, to use the system. The result of four years in development, Version 10 is written in Filemaker Pro database which can be customised for “bespoke” needs which may not be covered in the main program.

In addition to the Print version of the program, Price Wizard also offers a more specific system for signwriters, both at a non-ongoing fee cost of $2,500 per computer for the first four and $1,000 per computer thereafter.
