Sema installs first Fuji Xerox iGen 5

Fuji Xerox Australia has launched its new iGen 5 Press publishing system, with brand solution specialist Sema becoming the first Australian company to take advantage of the new technology. The iGen 5’s ability to provide an optional fifth colour in addition to the regular cyan, magenta yellow and black most appealed to the company. Sema sales director Chris Williams says the added feature has expanded the gamut of colours the company can provide to its clients. Williams says, “A lot of our clients that we deal with are very brand conscious and they are looking for our ability to match brand colours in a short time frame. To have the ability to match corporate colours, and to be able to do it quickly, is huge for us; and it’s huge for our customers.”

Sema COO Brent McCulloch adds, “The iGen 5 ensures that Sema can accurately match client specific or special palette. This exception capability to match means that Sema’s clients can rest assured that their brand will be accurately represented.” Sema has operated for 35 years, delivering customer communications for Australia’s biggest brands including Commonwealth Bank, Q Super and Telstra. Sema utilises its client’s channel of choice, including print, email, video or social media to deliver brand messages. With a staff of 250, it has locations in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. The new iGen 5 went into Sema’s plant in Kingsgrove, Sydney. Williams reports the company is pleased with the iGen’s capabilities so far. He says, “There are others on the market but we tested the iGen 5 with Fuji Xerox, so we know it works. It’s been on the floor for over a month with good implementation. The sort of work we are doing is data driven and our systems work very well with Fuji Xerox technology.” Williams believes no machine can win new customers but says that adding the iGen 5 to Sema’s existing data skill set will increase the company’s job turnaround time. Sema has recently secured new business with Optus and Bauer Media. Fuji Xerox Australia marketing manager Roger Labrum says, “We are extremely pleased with the number of large businesses expressing interest in the iGen series. These businesses can see how they can enhance their existing capabilities with this product.” The Fuji Xerox iGen 5 is available now for purchase Australia wide.
