Software company with “high-profile” clients moves to Australia

A Swiss software company has opened a Sydney office to capitalise on the 'unique' Australasian market.

GMC Software Technology, which supplies software for multi-channel communications, said a local office would improve its sales and support to Australian and New Zealand clients.

GMC plans to build the local team to seven people during 2014. The office will be headed by Australia & New Zealand regional manager Nick Dempsey, who was previously head of sales in Southeast Asia.

"The market in Australia and New Zealand is different from anywhere else in the world," said Dempsey.

"There is a strong focus on print service providers, and 70% of all print work is outsourced.

"GMC already works with some high-profile names in this market, including Australia Post and New Zealand Post, and we look forward to strengthening our relationship with them, as well as providing customer communication solutions that meet the needs of new enterprise clients."

GMC also has offices in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and Taiwan.
