Southern Colour wins CIPPI Award

The CIP4 Organisation established the CIPPI awards “…in order to recognise leading printers, publishers, or prepress services that have demonstrated uncommon leadership in their pursuit of process automation technology”.

The judges commented, “Good explanation, of goals and methodology – 250 per cent more plates with 30 per cent less staff. Very objective statements on competition,” and “This is an example of a company that sees this as a change in the way they do business and keep going on to the next area with the process”.

Allan Gardiner, prepress manager at Southern Colour (Vic), commented that the company was thrilled to win this award, proving that the company’s strategic plans were right on track for future success.

The company used Lithotechnics’ Metrix planning software, along with Heidelberg’s Prinect and Optimus’s MIS as components in its production solution.

Rohan Holt, president of LithoTechnics, said, “We are honoured to be a part of our customers’ success in implementing process automation, and thrilled that they have been recognised for their innovation and achievements.”
