Two Xerox production printers win prestigious awards

The Xerox Nuvera 288 Digital Perfecting System (pictured below) won the prize for ‘Best Production Cut-Sheet Monochrome Printer of the Year 2008’. The EDP Association stated that the award for the Nuvera 288 was based on “the product¹s speed and high production, image quality and the Pass Through Programming feature”.

The Xerox 650/1300 won the prize for ‘Best Web-Fed Production Printer Monochrome of the year 2008’. The EDP Association stated that the award was based on “the capability of combining speed, ease-of-use and workflow productivity, as well as for its three printing technologies, including flash-fusing”.

Commenting on these awards, Valentin Govaerts, senior vice president, Production and Graphics Arts Industry, Xerox Europe, said, “Xerox is delighted to have won these awards, they are an endorsement of our continuing leadership in digital printing innovation and our commitment to provide customers with the right technology, the right workflow and the right business model.”

A fully integrated, tandem engine architecture makes the new Xerox Nuvera
288 Digital Perfecting System run two-sided prints twice as fast with image quality equivalent to offset printing standards. The Xerox Nuvera? 288 Digital Perfecting System can produce books, catalogues, bills, statements and other graphic-intensive documents at 288 duplex impressions per minute
(144 two-sided pages). Xerox’s ‘Pass Through Programming’ technology – which keeps the Nuvera 288 DPS running even if one of the engines is stopped provides continued productivity and uptime for commercial print operations and in-house printing facilities.

The 650/1300 can print up to 1,232 duplex A4 images per minute. The system uses dry toner, xerographic imaging and flash-fusing technology a unique process that does not use heat or pressure or make contact with the paper, allowing the device to print on a wider array of substrates than competitive systems.
