Visy launches Australia’s largest offset press

Located at the company’s plant in the south-western Sydney suburb of Revesby, the $6 million Rapida 205 – a super-large format UV sheet-fed offset press the company has named ‘Max’ – provides the site with “greater variety and flexibility for clients requiring large scale printing and offers substantial efficiencies and cost savings for posters, point-of-purchase displays, banners and signage, and packaging”, according to Visy.

The Rapida 205 prints on sheet sizes up to 2050mm and on a range of substrates up to 1.2mm thick, as well as being designed to run at speeds of up to 9,000 sheets per hour. The press is also able to print five colours, as well as offering gloss and UV varnish.
