Willoughby departs OMA for government job

1 January 2010

Charmaine Moldrich comes to the job from the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority (SHFA), where she served as the executive director for marketing and events.

She will also become chief executive of the association’s Measurement of Outdoor Visibility and Exposure (MOVE) initiative, which launches next month.

Willoughby (pictured) will head up the communications department of the federal government’s Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations.

She told ProPrint that she was “very sad” to be leaving the OMA, but said the opportunity to work with deputy prime minster Julia Gillard was too good to pass up.

“I wasn’t looking to leave,” she said. “But I leave knowing that MOVE has been delivered and that the OMA is in good shape.”

Moldrich has experience in managing outdoor assets through her tenure at the SHFA.

“When her name was put forward, I knew she’d be perfect for the role,” Willoughby said.

Meanwhile, the OMA board has also secured the services of former Research International Australia and New Zealand chief executive John Gandar on a six-month basis to manage the MOVE project during its transition phase to market.
