Woodwing and Celum sign partnership deal

The partnership will combine Celum’s enterprise-level Imagine DAM system with Woodwing’s software platform for the production of print and online publications.

The two companies have already demonstrated a system based on the integration of Imagine with Content Station, a key component of Woodwing’s content publishing platform, at last year’s Ifra 2009 newspaper trade show in Vienna.

According to the companies, this system allows users of Content Station direct access to content – including images, video and other media files held within Imagine – from within the editorial working environment of Woodwing’s system.

Michael Kraeftner, chief executive of Austria-based Celum, said: “The technology partner network of Celum is growing rapidly and so is Celum’s market presence.

“This new cooperation enables both Woodwing and us to tap new resources and to gain competitive advantages in technology, as well as by joint marketing activities.”

Woodwing Software chief executive Hans Janssen added: “Since the very beginning, Woodwing has opted for a distributed strategy working with technology partners instead of developing all functionality in-house.

“Each of our partners delivers state-of-the-art technology, focused on one or more aspects of the desired solution. So we are continuously looking for integrations.”

Last month saw the first local deployment of the latest version of Woodwing’s publishing software, with Pacific Magazines harnessing the technology for its Prevention magazine.
