Worldwide Online franchise changes hands for ‘record’ $1 million sale price

Managing director Rob Dallimore said the sale price showed Worldwide was “in a solid position for the future and has clearly come out the other side much healthier and stronger”.

Worldwide Online Printing called in the administrators in February 2010, before being bought out by WA-based Crystal Printing that June.

“[This] is a clear indication of the strength of the Worldwide franchise model as well as the solid commercial foundation that the centre owner has built up over the years,” Dallimore added.

The owners of the Adelaide CBD franchise, Chris and Jan Donovan, sold the business to employees Jonathan Ban and Graeme Mattner, who had worked as graphic designer and bookkeeper, respectively, for about seven years.

Ban told ProPrint that he and Mattner regarded it a good investment given their knowledge of Worldwide and the centre’s “proven track record”.

Ban also said that while print may be going through troubled times, “human beings always want something physical to hold”.

“I believe print will never die. It will go down, but that’s where service really matters,” he said.
