Xerox bridges gap from cut-sheet to continuous with Color 8250

The Color 8250 Production Press is a 138 A4ppm machine, based on the iGen. It is tuned for higher-volume jobs and lower operating costs.

Applications include replacing pre-print and highlight colour cut-sheet transactional work. There is also an option for a roll-feed input, which offers lower material and labour costs.

Fuji Xerox Australia chief marketing officer Simon Lane told ProPrint: "Fuji Xerox Australia is fortunate to be able to bring to its customers the best-of-breed technology solutions from both Fuji Xerox and Xerox Corporation.

"We carefully review all solutions launched by both organisations to ensure there is a match to our local customer requirements, and we will of course review the Color8250 to see whether it is suitable for the Australian marketplace.

"In the meantime, we are excited by the opportunities offered to us by our existing range."

The launch followed that of the single engine duplex (SED) model of Xerox's CiPress waterless inkjet press for lower volume and constrained footprint operations.

The SED runs a half-width web of 241mm in a single tower. A field upgrade is available.

A Xerox spokesperson said a twin SED option should prove popular as it offers the back-up of continued operation during breakdowns and maintenance, without the capital expenditure of twin lines.
