The A/NZ region has come in third in the countries most awarded after nabbing wins across 13 categories in the WorldStar Packaging Awards 2021, run by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO).

The company also won in the health and personal care category for its Glow Lab solution, which is a post-consumer sourced (PCR) 100 per cent rPET bottle range.

All winners will be recognised at an Awards Gala Ceremony in May 2021, where the winners for the special categories – President’s Award, Sustainability Award, Marketing Award and Packaging that Saves Food Award – will also be announced.

“The submissions were, again, of a significantly high standard, and to note was how well the submissions in general reflected the focus of packaging with sustainability in mind,” WPO president Pierre Pienaar said.

“Also of interest was the number of clever and unique ideas. I particularly was impressed with the number of submissions from countries that have in the past not partaken in any significant way. We received a good variety of entries covering all the categories. We will continue to review the categories thus ensuring due relevance is always maintained.”

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, WPO turned to virtual judging for the WorldStar awards.

All of the 194 winners of the WorldStar Packaging Awards 2021 can be viewed here.

WPO also mentioned that further information on the ceremony will be communicated at a later date as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
