ACP Magazines’s new MD a believer in print

Scott, who will report directly to David Gyngell, CEO of PBL Media, will have responsibility for the bottom line of the Australian magazine business.

Commenting on his appointment Scott says, “There’s plenty of work still to do as the media landscape transitions to the digital age, but magazines are part of my DNA and I am a great believer in the future of print as part of an integrated media world.”

Meanwhile, David Gyngell said the promotion of Phil Scott was a significant step forward for the magazine group.

He says, “Phil is a proven publisher and editor with a great track record of growing the business. He understands the value of integrated media assets and I respect his commercial judgement, creativity and entrepreneurial skills.”

Mr Gyngell added that Scott’s great drive and hard work this year as group publishing director had been a big factor in ACP winning 10 of the 17 Australian Magazine Awards last week, including Magazine of the Year for The Australian Women’s Weekly.
