Agfa fires up inkjet team with Burns

Agfa entered the wide format inkjet solutions market five years ago and now claims to be the number one supplier to commercial printers, and in the top three of the whole segment when sign and display printers are included. It manufactures the Anapurna, Jeti and M-Press range of digital inkjet printers.

Burns joins after spending  more than four years with EFI Vutek, prior to that he ran his own wide format business for a decade.

He says, “Having had my own business I am empathetic to the needs of wide format printers, both in terms of the solutions they need and the means to afford those solutions. Agfa clearly understands the digital inkjet business, and has outstanding solutions to help printshop owners drive their businesses forward.”

Steve Taylor, inkjet manager at Agfa says, “Following the successful appointment of Mike Culver as northern region inkjet Business Development Manager in April and his ready welcome by the market we decided printers would benefit from a local inkjet specialist in the southern states.

We are delighted to welcome Phillip into the role, we are sure  his vast experience and understanding of inkjet print businesses will prove a boon to the market here”

Agfa now only sells digital inkjet wide format solutions directly,  Taylor says it suits the company and ‘more importantly’ the customers to have a direct connection with the manufacturer. Burns will be responsible for Victoria, SA, WA and Tasmania.
