Agfa launches 3.2m Anapurna hybrid

Agfa Graphics has developed a new 3.2 metre hybrid solution for printing on both rigid and flexible media, the Anapurna H3200i LED system.

Willy Van Dromme, Agfa manager of marketing wide-format says, “This is a belt-driven hybrid machine which handles all types of roll media in a size up to 3.2m, both in a single-roll and a dual-roll configuration, and it also allows for printing on two metre by three metre rigids, fed with the long size first.

“Thanks to the LED UV curing it supports the widest media mix in the market at all print quality levels.”

The new Anapurna i-series inkjet systems come with built-in air-cooled LED UV lamps. Agfa says the lamps reduce heat emission, allowing them to print on heat-sensitive substrates such as thin-layer styrene and self-adhesive sheets.

Agfa says the LED alternative to mercury lamps gives the user an economical five year lifetime and are able to be switched on/off instantaneously, without degradation of intensity, removing the downtime involved with changing lamps.

Van Dromme adds, “Our customers will benefit from the operations savings, the broader media range and the environmental advantages that LED UV curing adds to the systems, without compromising on either print quality or productivity.”

The new printer will be on display at the 2016 SGIA Expo in Las Vegas from September 14 to 16.
