AGS to host Kompac open house

Australian Graphic Servicing (AGS) is holding an open house for product demonstration on the latest Kompac UV and Aqueous coating systems, in Mulgrave Victoria, March 29-31.

Focusing on the latest EZ Koat range by Kompac, the event will feature an EZ Koat 20 Plus, which Kompac says is the only UV coating system to feature digital UV. According to Kompac, the environmentally friendly digital UV replaces potentially hazardous ballast/mercury relay systems used in curing UV coatings.

AGS says the EZ Koat 20 plus was chosen as it can demonstrate applications suitable for digital and offset printers, and is faster, more efficient and more cost-effective than lamination.

Ross Gilberthorpe, equipment sales and marketing manager, AGS says, “Kompac has been an industry standard for many years manufacturing quality dampening systems for offset printing presses. Using this experience Kompac have now developed precision UV and Aqueous Flood and Spot coating systems for the digital and offset printer. It is without doubt the Mercedes of the industry in that sense.

“A lot of other systems on the marketplace recirculate the coating up into the machine and back into the drum, which raises issues of impurities being picked up, being put on the paper and causing problems. The Kompac systems do not recirculate, delivering the exact amount of coating needed, meaning zero wastage and flaws.

“The EZ Koat systems can change from a UV to Aqueous, or gloss to matte in less than five minutes. Other systems would take considerably longer to do so, with a lot of down time in cleaning the machines to set it up. For digital printers with small runs, this is a huge advantage.

“Kompac offer a wide range of systems that can coat plastics, boards, anything that needs a coating, even across the packaging industry, metallic strips, metallic labels. There are many different types of coatings sold for different substrates.

“While EZ Koat is a Floodcoat system, Kompac also offer the Kwik Finish range for spot coating applications.”

Kompac was introduced to the Australian market through AGS earlier this year.

Interested printers can call 1800 221 410 to book a demonstration.
