Allkotes launches Android app

Allkotes has launched an Android app after the success of its first printing app for IOS devices, which it says will give its clients access to their products at the touch of a button. Speaking with the Australian Printer, Darren Delaney, business development director at Allkotes, says: “We had a lot of success with the IOS app, and this new Android app is built on success that to allow creative and graphic design studios, as well as ad agencies, access to our products at the touch of a button.

“The main purpose of this invention is to broaden our customer’s knowledge and understanding of our product range and for us the concept stage was the main focus. And just like the iPad & iPhone app, the Android app for mobile phones and tablet devices is free.” He says there are a number of different phone makes and models and this Android app, which customers need to have Google PlayStore account to download, allows everyone to use the Allkotes app. Delaney says the current times require all businesses to adapt to the ‘smart world’ to ensure they are not out of touch with new ways of communicating with clients. Trade finishing and embellishment house Allkotes has also seen a surge in Soft Metal, which gives printed products a ‘vibrant effect of the inks’. “The market has seen Matte Metalised films before but the star qualities are how the inks appear on the surface. When printing on Matte Metalised you can achieve a nice soft result but it is the opposite on Soft Metal, the colours actually come to life,” Delaney says. “The product has seen strong success on the Indigo digital printers or wet toner base digital equipment and offset printers with UV or foil/vinyl ink capabilities.” Delaney says while the cost is higher than the ReflectaKote, which is the gloss metralised film, once the clients ‘see the results they find the budget to use Soft Metal’. He says Soft Metal is used across the sector including packaging, POS, magazine covers, business cards, presentation folders and DM pieces.
