A product extension of the successful easy-open and recloseable, stand-up flexible container, Amcor FlexCan, Amcor AquaFlexCan was launched by the company at Interpack as the first flexible container for water and other still beverages.
Amcor says the innovative new packaging design of AquaFlexCan ensures on-shelf differentiation and an enhanced product offering. It is ideal for glass-/bottle-/ can-free events and the entire pack surface is available for printing, including the top and bottom.
To use Amcor AquaFlexCan consumers simply Tear-n-Sip. The pack utilises laser perforation so that the top of the mouthpiece is easy to tear off and then consumers drink directly from the pack. No straw or scissors are required.
A special seal geometry of the mouthpiece allows consumers to easily control the liquid flow and limits spills if the pack falls over.
Amcor AquaFlexCan is produced on a vertical FFS-Rovema VPI 260 FlexCan machine and is made from Amcor AquaFlex – a new flexible material specifically developed by Amcor Flexibles for non-carbonated fresh drinking water.
Amcor AquaFlex offers comparable shelf life to rigid containers. It holds chemical and organoleptic certification and its barrier properties ensure water remains fresh and pure.
Amcor says AquaFlex is a low cost solution to pure water retail portion packs and specialist survival packs and similar laminates are also available for fruit juice, flavoured water and other still drinks.
